Which education board is best for your child?

Education is the birth right of every child, but when it gets to them, it’s often in bad quality. They do all the schooling, still they come out as they have learned nothing or just knowing bits and pieces from everywhere. So, as a parent, it’s your obligation to give them the best chance they can possibly get. For that, the first thing you can do is choosing the right education board. Everyone tends to run after schools, but no one care about the education board they are choosing. Yes, schools are important, so are the boards. Some gives vast and in-depth understanding about the subjects, and others make you just prepared for competitive exams. Each has its own advantages, and it’s important that you decide the quality of education you bestow upon your child. You have to think beyond getting the certificate, and focus on the things they learn, without reducing its quality.

ICSE

If you want your kid to get an in-depth understanding about everything, then you should go for ICSE, for it covers every subject in detail. It gives you an upper hand when it comes to the syllabus covered, helping your kid to learn more in a short time, but for that to happen, you have to develop a strong desire to learn in your child’s mind, otherwise, it will become a huge burden on them as its syllabus is very wide and complex. If your kid goes with that mindset or with a hunger to learn more, then ICSE can do wonders on your child. One important aspect which makes ICSE special is that it doesn’t focus on just one particular area leaving the others, it gives importance to every section from arts, science to language. ICSE also helps students who wants to pursue higher education abroad as it gives strong foundation from grass root level. It makes your kid ready for the world, not just limited to India. Also, ICSE is preferred more than any other boards for admission to foreign universities.

CBSE

CBSE doesn’t offer a vast syllabus like we see in ICSE. Instead, they follows an easy one with less number of subjects. It helps the students to learn with an exam point of view as CBSE conducts different national level entrance exams for higher studies. Also, the number of schools affiliated to CBSE are plenty in the country, and there won’t be any problem getting admission to one, and you can easily get transfer from one one school to another without worrying about the availability of CBSE affiliated schools. CBSE doesn’t overburden the students with an extensive syllabus, and instead they discusses subjects in an easy manner.

State boards

State boards does not have an extensive syllabus like ICSE and CBSE,it makes life easy for your child. It doesn’t go deep into the subject matter, instead they familiarise the subject matter without making your kid feeling overwhelmed. In state boards, you can choose regional languages as the medium and gain knowledge in that medium. It has both pros and cons, in one way it helps your kid tackle state level exams which is often in local languages, but when it comes to pursuing higher education, it puts your kid in backfoot. Learning things in regional languages have another advantage, the student gets to expand his vocabulary in that language which comes handy when they face state level public service examinations.

Schools matter

When you plan to provide the best future for your child, you have to really research about the school you are sending your kid to. Do they really provide what they promise or what they say are just mere words to fill up their brochure. Ask the kids and their parents about their experience with the school and evaluate yourself. Don’t send your kid to a particular school, just because all your neighbours are sending. Go out there, and get a good understanding about how the school operate. Then, make a decision.

Don’t burden their life

Don’t sent your kid to special tuitions, just because it became a social norm. Maybe your kid doesn’t need it, in such case, you will be wasting your kids valuable time, otherwise spent on various extra curricular activities. By sending your kid to extra tuitions without any need, you are dong them no favour and all you do is steal their time. Observe your child, and find out what they are good at. Maybe there is a painter or singer in your child, other than a doctor or an engineer. So, give them some time, to explore themselves, instead of turning them into machines. Let them breathe.

Conclusion

Before doing anything, spend time with your child, communicate with them, observe and understand, and find out what they are good at. Catch those signs they show at an early age, and then decide what school board will suit them the best. If you feel like your kid is more inclined to arts, then you should select the board accordingly, and take special care to not make them feel overwhelmed with additional tuitions. You have to let them dream, and they will find their own path in time. What you can do is understand them, and make those initial moves like selecting the school board which suits them, and finally, a nice school which delivers on their promises.
